March Into Art Winners The Youth March into Art Show for 2005 presented by River Region Art Association and Parish of Ascension Recreation & Culture featured 123 entires showing the artistic talent of the youth in this area. Judges Robin Toller and Marcia Eisworth exclaimed the decisons were challenging due to the quality of creative work. We were most appreciative of the judges who took time to write a comment for each artpiece. Particiapting ribbons were awarded to each child for their creative efforts. Thanks to Wendy Hazey for coordinating the event. Assisting were Donna Braud, Jan Hebert, & Barbara Ponds. This was the biggest March into Art Show we have ever had. The SteamBoat Tour Visitors voted for the Best of Show by People's Choice and they selected Kal Gunasingha, age 13 for his intriguiing drawing of "Girl".

Cats, Hats, & Baseball Bats! And the Winners Are............ One may find some strange cats, colorful chapeaus, and a really unique style baseball bat at the River Region Art Gallery special theme exhibit “Cats, Hats, and Baseball Bats!” on display now until May 1. This community exhibit was presented by PARC and RRAA to encourage creativity and it did the job! The multi medium show representing all age groups was judged by Patti McGehee , Ponchatoula. The winners are as listed: The Best of Show winner was Yolanda Santa Maria for her Watercolor titled Southern Belle.
