CAROL BRYANT
Carol was born and raised in Abbeville and is currently living in Gonzales. She is married with five children and 7 grandchildren. She has lived in the Virgin Islands, New Orleans, and Baton Rouge due to her husband, Braxford’s work. She is a housewife who enjoys quilting and painting in her spare time. Carol attests that she has been drawing for as long as she can remember. She began painting at age 11 when her grandmother gave her an oil set. She is basically self taught, but has taken some watercolor and oil workshops. Carol joined the River Region Art Association (RRAA) in December of 2003. In august she was voted People’s choice Award at the Red Hot Chamber Night. In October she received both an Honorable mention and Merit Award in the Awesome Art Show. Carol also was selected as the December Artist of the Month. She participated in the “Cats, Hats, and Baseball Bats!” exhibit sponsored by RRAA and the Ascension Recreation and Park office judged by Patti McGehee from Ponchatoula. Carol painted an LSU Baseball fan that just happened to be a big tiger cat. She especially likes to paint landscapes, animals, birds and portraits. She is a regular docent at RRAA Gallery and often volunteers to help with various activities the organization presents. Carol can be contacted at 225-647-9411 or by email at sonnyb917@cs.com
