A self -taught artist, I have always had a passion to re-create the experiences of my life through my art. Conveying on canvas, images conjured by childhood memories, family traditions, etc., into art that will in turn cause the viewer to pause and feel that moment too, is what I try to achieve in each of my paintings. I love creating images that bring warmth to the heart, thoughts to the mind and peace to the soul. To be able to create art is a gift and it fills my heart and soul with images that simply flow into the expressions reflected in my work. Working primarily in acrylics and mixed media, my art is versatile and expresses a variety of styles and interests. My home state, Louisiana, provides me with a paradise of subject matter, ranging from food and nature, to religious and cultural themes. Cathy C.
