An Awesome Show

With over 325 entries for the 2007 Awesome Art in Autumn Gardens Show displayed at the Houmas House Plantation Oct 13 & 14,  the judges admitted their job was a hard one this year.  Judges were: Kathy Stone, Betty Messelt, Jeanie Matheny, Cynthia Schneider, and Steve Schneider.  The Awesome Art competition and Arts & Cultural Festival was presented by River Region Art Association located in Gonzales with partial funding from the Louisiana Division of the Arts and the Baton Rouge Art Council and numerous community Art Supporters.

Winner of the Art Spirit Award for the most students entered in the Youth Division was Galvez Middle School.  This award goes to the school with the most school spirit for the ARTS!

The Best of Show Award was named in  memory of Lynette Muller, an enthusiastic and dedicated member of River Region Art Association  from 1999 until her death in late 2006.  Her husband, Bob Muller accepted a plaque in her memory.. A framed photo of Lynette striking a happy pose at a Red Hot Art function was also presented to her family.
